I can so clearly remember receiving the email titled “Shift Shop Test Group”. My mouth immediately went dry, palms sweaty, heart racing.
Since becoming a Coach 3.5 years ago it has been a dream of mine to be a part of one of these test groups – to TEST a brand new program. I couldn’t believe this opportunity was before me.
But it wasn’t how I imagined it would be.
I wasn’t where I imagined I would be…
But I guess that’s just the reason the universe sent me this incredible gift, right at the time I think I needed it the most.
I was excited but SCARED SHITLESS…because there I was, a health & fitness Coach who had gained all the weight back – starting right back where I began right after giving birth to my second baby, who just turned 2 years old.
Right back where I started. AGAIN. Square one.
I was embarrassed. Ashamed at myself. I had lost myself, put my own journey second to that of all the things I was trying to do & be for everyone else. Investing all of myself, outside myself and leaving my cup empty.
Struggling hard with emotional & binge eating, self sabotage, major self doubt & negative self talk. I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror and felt completely uncomfortable in my own skin.
Part of me wanted to run & hide, but I knew that this was my opportunity to find my spark again.
To become a “Challenger” again.
I won’t lie and say I didn’t want to see physical changes, of course I did, but honestly the changes I really wanted and needed to see were in my MINDSET, my mental state. I needed to stop the self sabotage, fear of success, negative self talk & self doubt. The comparison game, and as Chris says, “Stay in my own lane”.
This program and his Coaching couldn’t have been more in line with what I needed! The focus was “You vs. You”, on becoming the best version of yourself. Unlocking your true potential and realizing that you really are LIMITLESS.
Honestly, this workouts are BRUTAL hard. Probably the hardest I’ve ever done. But each workout comes with a “shop rule” like, “Try Before You Modify” and “Celebrate the Challenge”
I found that my only roadblock was ME. My thoughts and the stories I would create when things got hard. That the ONLY way that I would truly CHANGE and move forward from these old habits and patterns that were holding me back is if I didn’t back away from the struggle, the burn, the challenge. Instead I would LEAN IN, face it, go THROUGH it and come out on the other side.
On the other side is where the clarity would come. Where I could finally see past the negative self talk, and limiting self beliefs and understand that I CAN and I WILL if I believe it to be true.
Breaking the chains of negative thought patterns and CAN’Ts is the key to CHANGING and moving forward into the person you are meant to become.
Every single day Chris would come into our private group and give us video pep talks, tough love and encouragement. He empowered us to know that we were capable of SO much more than we thought possible.
This program is about SO MUCH more than fitness and nutrition leading to physical transformation. It’s literally like living out your own underdog story. It’s about overcoming yourself, and getting a taste of your greatness.
…and it’s addicting 🙂
I lost 11 lbs and 13 inches in 21 Days…but I gained so much more…
This program reminded me why I decided to become a Coach in the first place. To what I truly believe: That Fitness was my gateway to empowerment. It opened the door for me to understand that I am capable of SO much more than I was ever giving myself credit for before.
Building my physical strength went hand in hand with building internal strength, shifting my mindset & finding the inner power to keep going.
It is also the gateway through which I built my incredible lady tribe, my community and they are what light me up & help me understand how important & necessary it is to do this work.
The focus of what I do in my Challenge Groups & private support group is NOT quick fix weightloss, depriving yourself or punishing yourself for not having a thigh gap or “perfect body” – NOPE.
It is about becoming STRONG! Mentally, physically & emotionally. I don’t mean in a cold & shut off kind of way…to me, being brave & strong means having the courage to be vulnerable, to let your true self be seen, to have the confidence to share your whole heart & love yourself through it. To believe in yourself and tap into your true potential.
